Lerch RV Celebrates a Spectacular 47th Open House Sale.

This past Saturday, May 4th, 2024, we at Lerch RV hosted our 47th annual Open House Sale, and what a fantastic day it was, even if the weather put a slight damper on things! As an owner of Central PA’s biggest towable RV dealership, I am thrilled to share that the event was a resounding success, filled with fun, festivities, fantastic deals, and many RV sales.

When the doors opened, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and community spirit. Guests from near and far gathered to explore our wide selection of RVs and take advantage of our special open-house sales event pricing. It’s always a pleasure to meet with our customers face-to-face, and this event provided the perfect opportunity to connect with new and familiar faces.

Feasting and Festivities

No celebration is complete without good food, and thanks to the Lewistown Moose Lodge, there was plenty of it! Free food kept everyone fueled and ready to explore everything on offer. To help with the thirst-quenching, Shy Bear Brewing was on hand, serving up some of their finest brews. Their locally crafted beers complemented a day filled with leisurely paced RV browsing and good company.

Special Appearances

Some notable guests made the event even more special. The legendary Penn State Nittany Lion made an appearance, bringing smiles and excitement to our guests, especially the children and those young at heart. The energy was palpable, and the joy our mascot friend brought to the crowd was a highlight of the day.

Adding to the Penn State pride, Linebacker #43, Tyler Elsdon, was also in attendance. Tyler spent the day answering questions, signing autographs, and sharing insights about Penn State football. His presence was a real treat for sports fans and added an extra layer of excitement to the event.

Availability of Parts:

One of our challenges is parts availability. While we strive to keep commonly needed parts in stock, there are instances when our Service Team must order directly from manufacturers. Unfortunately, this means we’re at the mercy of their delivery timelines.

Shipping Damages:

Parts damaged during shipping are another hurdle in the race to repair your RV that we encounter. Despite our best efforts to ensure safe transit, the nature of shipping can sometimes result in damages. When this occurs, we must reorder the part, causing delays in the repair process.

Incorrect Parts:

The RV industry is dynamic, with manufacturers frequently changing suppliers and production processes. Changing suppliers by the manufacturer, as well as their running production line changes of suppliers or parts leads to variations of the same part used across different brands of RVs. Consequently, receiving incorrect parts from manufacturers can cause setbacks in your camper’s repairs.

Parts Backorders:

Backordered parts are a common occurrence in the industry. While our Service Team strives to source from partnered suppliers, sometimes the back order is industry-wide, requiring your patience until the part becomes available to ship to our service center.

Service Appointment Availability:

It’s essential to note that our service center serves Lerch RV customers and RV owners from across the state and the Mid-Atlantic area. During peak times, your RV technician may be booked far in advance due to the high demand for service work. Especially during the weeks leading up to the beginning of the camping season in late April/May. The earlier you make your appointments, the quicker you can get camping!

Penn State® Athletics Announces Alumni-Owned Lerch RV as New Multi-Year Sponsor

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (May, 2023) – Penn State® Athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, LEARFIELD’s Penn State Sports Properties, announced today that Lerch RV is a new sponsor of the Nittany Lions. This marks the first college sports sponsorship for the Milroy-based dealership.

Lerch RV is Central Pennsylvania’s largest towable RV dealership for sales and RV service. Its multi-year relationship via Penn State Sports Properties provides the company with official university marks and two designations: Official RV Dealership Sponsor of Penn State Athletics and Official RV Dealership Sponsor of Penn State Football.

“We’re excited to welcome Lerch RV to the Penn State Athletics family,” said Doug Nelson, Penn State Sports Properties’ vice president/general manager. “With the iconic tailgating and RV scene that Penn State is known for, it only makes sense for a local and alumni-owned RV Dealer to become our official RV Dealership Sponsor.”

The Penn State affinity runs deep at Lerch RV as its owner, Ed Lerch, is an alumnus, class of 1975. 2022 Hershey RV Show – American’s largest RV Show, Sept 14-18, 2022

August is coming to a close, which can mean only one thing in the world of RVs, it’s almost time for America’s largest RV Show. Join Lerch RV, central PA’s biggest RV dealership, at this year’s Hershey RV Show. The show will be held from September 14th through the 18th at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA.

Lerch RV will display the fantastic KZ Durango product line-up of fifth-wheel RVs. The KZ Durango offers all the upscale staples at an affordable price. Durango is approved for full-time living with an all-weather insulation package.
