Friends of Amazing Kids, Support Autism in Pennsylvania

I am glad to announce that  your central Pennsylvania RV dealership, Lerch RV was able to raise $1,400 for Friends of Amazing Kids! This great organization provides a network of support for families and friends of Autistic children.  At the recent Pennsylvania Camper’s World RV Show held at the York Fairgrounds in York, PA, Lerch RV was able to raise one thousand four hundred dollars for this Hanover, York County based organization.

I would also like to remind my readers, that Lerch RV is not yet finished donating to FOAK.  For the remainder of the month, we will continue to contribute $1 for every new Facebook like/fan.  I ask that you help us in supporting Autism awareness.  I have had many of our customers mention how Autism affects their families, it is amazing.  More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes or pediatric AIDS combined. I ask you to show your support by ‘liking’ Lerch RV on Facebook.  If you are already following us, then help us out by asking your family and friends to ‘like’ us.  It is that easy, and it costs you nothing…

Help Support Autism Awareness in Pennsylvania.

FOAK-Friends of Amazing Kids, Autism Awareness in Pennsylvania

More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes or pediatric AIDS combined.

What is Autism? The Autism Speaks website (autismspeaks.org) defines Autism as such; Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors.  Autism statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identify around 1 in 110 American children as on the autism spectrum–a 600 percent increase in prevalence over the past two decades.

This year during the York RV Show (York Campers World RV Show) Lerch RV will be supporting an organization that provides a network of support for families with Autistic Children, Friends of Amazing Kids, or better known as FOAK. Friends of Amazing Kids provides a network of support for family and friends of children with autism within the greater Hanover, PA (York County) area.  This great organization also raises funds for the Amazing Kids Club which provides social interaction for children with autism and special needs.   The Amazing Kids Club offers an on-site therapeutic program for children and adolescents (ages 2-20 yrs) with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. It is considered a step-down program from the traditional one-to-one BHRS (wraparound) services.

Visit Lerch RV at the York RV Show, March 9 – 11, 2012, and help us support a great organization.  We will be donating $100 per trailer sale to FOAK, along with money raised on the Lerch RV Facebook page as well.  If you are not a fan or have not liked us on Facebook, now is the time to do so, we are also donating $1.00 for every new “like” we receive from March 1-15, 2012.
